As part of competition for State and National Titles, the following judging criteria are used:
Petite Candidates

* 1/3 Interview
* 1/3 Party Dress Presentation
* 1/3 Personality Projection

Pre-Teen Candidates

* 30% Academics and Achievement
* 30% Interview
* 20% Gown Presentation
* 20% Personality Projection

For those girls who compete at the State and National Programs, several Optional Competitions are offered. These are presented at
the discretion of each director. Optional Competitions may include, but are not limited to Talent, Public Speaking, Sportswear
modeling, Patriotic Wear modeling, Vintage Wear modeling, Theatrical Costume modeling, and so on. Photo Miss and Portfolio,
which are photogenic competitions, may also be offered. Information on these competitions is sent to girls after they officially register
for the State or National Competitions; only those girls who participate in the Title Competitions may enter Optionals.
