The National Pre-Teen Program provides a variety of prizes and awards at the State and National Programs. These awards are determined by the individual directors, based on number of candidates participating, optional categories offered, and other factors. The Titleholders at State Programs receive the traditional crown, sash, and trophy, and may receive either a cash award or savings bond, in addition to their travel and entry paid to compete for the National Title. As a standard, directors are encouraged to use the following scale for cash awards to State Titleholders: 1- 50 candidates = $200 cash, 51-75 candidates = $350, 76-100 candidates = $500, and more where numbers warrant. Awards to runnersup are totally at the discretion of the director and are more commonly awarded when there are more than 100 candidates. Optional Categories of competition allow the candidates to compete in areas that are not part of the title competition, for more experience and doing things they enjoy. In these categories, awards and savings bonds are given to those girls who place. The bonds generally range in value from $50 and up, again depending on the number of entries. As a standard, 7 candidates must enter an optional competition in order for savings bonds to be awarded; if fewer than 7 participate, then only trophies are awarded. In State Talent competition, the top 3 are designated as State Talent Finalists, and they receive a $50 credit toward entry at the National Talent Contest. The Miss National Pre-Teen Program assumes no responsibility for awards presented by other parties. |
